It’s been quite a while since I’ve scheduled a Stitch Fix. They are so much fun to get in the mail, and I was seriously overdue. Whenever I schedule a fix, I always request Nicole as my stylist. She knows my style very well. I also request styles inspired by Princess Kate fashion, because I love her classic style. This fix was the first fix I requested all my clothes to be made in the USA.
Here’s what I got!
Le Lis Mishaila Piping Trim Blouse, XLP, $54
This was the first piece I pulled out of hte box. I immediately connected the piping with the pajama top trend, but I can’t say I’m a fan. I had to tuck this shirt into the skirt, because it was so short. I know that as a petite person, I need to adjust my visual waistline either up or down to make myself look taller. This shirt moves my waistline so high it looks weird. It looked cropped on me. This was sent back.
Renee C Traci Knit Skirt, LP, $54
I’ll just cut to the chase. This was another no for me. I love the style and print, but the cut just wasn’t right. I switched my sizing to petite because the regular items didn’t fit me well; but, it seems the petite items aren’t fitting me well, either. This was sent back.
Liverpool Shayla Contrast Collar Rainwear Trench, XL, $88
Let me just start by pointing how gorgeous this rain coat/trench coat is. I love the color and the style so much. The hood was a generous size, which is perfect for when it’s pouring down outside. I did not like the placement of the pockets. They were oddly in the front of the jacket, instead of the sides. Unfortunately, I sent this back for a couple of reasons. I am currently in the market for a new rain jacket, but I need it to work for all seasons. This one would be great during the colder months, since it’s so thick. It would be very hot during the summer. This was also too big for me, so I probably needed a size smaller.
Kaileigh Berta 2fer Knit Dress, XL, $58
This is the kind of dress I love. It’s fit and flare, in a classic color, and it’s comfortable … for the most part. The top portion of the dress was super stretchy and the bottom skirt portion was really thick. For me. these two fabrics were fighting each other. It felt like the skirt portion was pulling down on the top, and I could imagine this would not keep its shape over time. I also feel like the waistline was at a weird spot for me. This got sent back.
41 Hawthorn Paco Contrast Trim Pullover, XL, $68
Of all the times in the box, I expected to keep this one. But … I didn’t. That’s right, all the items got sent back. I immediately fell in love with this sweater when I pulled it out of the box. It’s incredibly soft, and I love the colors. The sleeves were way too long. You can see how much they were bunched up at my elbows. I could’ve exchanged it for a smaller size, but I don’t think the sleeves would be short enough for me. I was sincerely sad to send this back as well.
So, this box was a bust for me. I’m not too disappointed, though. I need to update my Stitch Fix profile to reflect some size changes. I think I will change my tops back to L. I think I’ve lost weight since my last fix.
Better luck next time!
