This is the last week before Christmas, so it’s the perfect time to share with you a few of my family Christmas traditions. We have a few things that we love to do every Christmas season. Do you also have family Christmas traditions? We love these activities that help usher in the Christmas season. It’s also a chance to be together as a family to not only do something fun together, but to also have some down time.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS – GINGERBREAD HOUSES
We build and decorated our annual gingerbread houses this past weekend. My mom and I used to bake ours from scratch, but I just buy a kit from the story for our kids. When all three of our kids want to build and decorate their own house at the same time, it’s just easier to have a pre-made kit. This year, we have four small houses, but I’m just sharing the pictures of the kids’ houses. Will and I decorated the fourth and that’s just not as interesting as the kids’ houses. 🙂
FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS – WRAPPING PRESENTS & WATCHING MOVIES
My husband and I have a tradition of wrapping presents while watching
Christmas movies. Our kids have gotten in on the tradition this year,
so it was super important to use that we were watching good, wholesome
holiday movies. Luckily, Pure Flix has an amazing offer this year. You can sign up for 5 Sundays of free Christmas movies here! I love that it is worry-free movie watching for our whole family.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS – BAKING HOMEMADE COOKIES
Homemade cookies are a must-have around here. We always have something sweet to eat, and 9 times out of 10 it’s made from scratch. There’s just something about making cookies from hand that is so special during this time of year. This past weekend, I made some delicious chocolate hazlenut linzer cookies. And of course, they’re best with hot chocolate. 🙂
I’d love to hear about your own family holiday traditions!
