Can you believe Christmas is only 11 days away? This month has gone by so fast, I can’t believe it’s almost winter time. With the winter solstice about a week away, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about winter nail care tips. My hands are always dry throughout the year, so the dry air of winter is particularly harsh on them.
I’ve added a few things to my winter nail care routine that have really helped the hydration levels of my nail, cuticles, and hands. All of these products are great additions to my regimen of daily hand cream and vitamin supplements. In fact, lately my nails have been growing longer and feeling so much stronger.
Typically, my nails are very dry and peel/break when they grow long. So if you’re like me and struggle to grow longer nails, definitely check out of some the products I’m sharing below! I’m also sharing some current nail polish faves.
Nails, Inc. Overnight Detox Mask, $15
This product was completely new to me. I got it in a recent Sephora order, and I am so glad I took the chance on it. This is treatment that is similar to a nail polish in that you paint it on your nails. Before you head to bed, swipe this on your nails for an extra boost of hydration and antioxidants. It contains green tea, spirulina, and acai berry. It is perfect for highly damage nails and especially good for your nails in between gel manicures. I don’t do gel manicures, although they are amazing if you want a long-lasting polish.
My nails are not highly damaged, although they get that way quickly if I do not maintain them. Hydration is a huge concern for me, and if I can put on a product that works while I sleep then that is all that more awesome. I’ve included shots of what it looks like when you apply it and after it dries. You can massage it into your cuticle bed for even more hydration. My nail looks so much healthier the next morning!
Nails, Inc. Back to Life Recovery Treatment & Base Coat, $15
I am all for products that serve more than one purpose. When I saw this base coat that doubles as a nail treatment, I snatched it up real quick. I love that the barrier between my nail and my nail polish is actually working to make my nail healthy. This treatment base coat is packed full of active oils to, again, aid in the hydration of your nails. My nails can use all the hydration they can get!
Nails, Inc. Superfood Nail and Cuticle Repair Oil, $15
Another product that I like to use is nail and cuticle oil. This is really great to apply before you go to bed, because it makes your hands a little greasy. This is a blend of sweet almond oil, argan oil, and rosehip seed oil. Rosehip seed oil is especially moisturizing for your skin. I apply a tiny dot on each nail, because a little bit truly goes a long way. I also do not plan on using my phone after it’s on my skin, because it is greasy. The greasiness completely goes away overnight, and my nails are left super hydrated and healthy!
Nails, Inc. Shine Bright Moisturising & Anti-Aging Hand Mask, $8
I had to include this in my favorite nail care products, especially because it has low reviews on Sephora’s website. This is a moisturizing treatment for your hands. Each pack has a pair of gloves in it. The gloves are plastic on the outside and they have a material that is very similar to facial sheet mask on the inside. The inside is chock full of moisturizing oils that hydrated and nourish your hands.
Most of the negative reviews are related to the gloves splitting down the sides. I did experience that, but only because I squeezed my hands together to make the gloves fit tightly. If you simply put your hands in the gloves and leave them be, you should not have a problem. The results I had were so amazing that I had to purchase another pair. My hands and nails looked so good for a solid week after using this treatment.
I don’t recommend it if dry skin is not a concern for you, as you probably would not see results from using this treatment. If you suffer from dry skin like I do, this would be an amazing treatment for you!
