Happy Tuesday! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far. Following up yesterday’s post, I wanted to share our Christmas home decor ideas. This year has been so exciting, and I’ve been looking forward to decorating for Christmas since we decided on the plans for our house last year.
You see, I was super specific in wanting a staircase in the foyer, because I imagined a huge pencil tree next to the stairs and lit garland winding up the staircase as my Christmas home decor ideas. I wasn’t able to find the exact tree I wanted, but we still found a beautiful one. After decorating our house this first year, we have few ideas to tweak for next year!
This year, I bought two real wreaths (we have double doors) and made bows for them. I love the smell when we walk through the door!
This is the gorgeous pencil tree we bought for the foyer. It’s 7.5 feet. We were hoping to find a 9-ft, but maybe next year. In fact, we’re thinking of doing three pencil trees together in this spot. We’ll see!
We have a small table in the foyer that has decorations, candy, and books on it.
In the dining room, I kept the decorations to a minimum. Since we use our table so much, I didn’t want to decorate it so much that we’d have to move the decorations out of the way to eat diner. I love these small trees and the small glass ornaments on them.
On our china cabinet, I have our small Christmas snow globe collection and a new wooden nativity set. We’ve actually never had a nativity set, and this one caught my eye at Target this year. I love the rustic, primitive style of it.
In the living room, we have our main tree. It has all of our family ornaments on it. It doesn’t really have a theme, and we love it that way. You can see right behind the tree that our kitty Zoe has a special spot where she can hide. She loves that little house!
On the cabinets to the left of the fireplace, we have all of our Christmas Legos set out for the kids to play with. Every year, we get the limited edition Christmas Lego set on Brick Friday (black Friday for Legos). It’s so much fun to add to our collection every year!
If you remember our Christmas decorations from last year, a lot of the mantel decor will look familiar. I actually set up our new mantel just like last year’s. I’m not sure if I love it, but it is very pretty. Our mantel is so deep, I’m still getting used to decorating it. It will definitely be different near year, because we have a brand new (huge) mirror to put above it!
And here are just a few ornaments from our living room tree.
How do you decorate for Christmas? I’d love to know some of your Christmas home decor ideas!
