Friends, I know that you know how much I love cold weather. I mean, if half the year could be winter, I’d be totally fine with that. Granted, it’s just that I live in the wrong climate. There are places that amazing winters (amazing being completely subjective), but I certainly won’t be moving anytime soon … or ever. But, I really do not like warm weather.
Well, this year, I have decided to work really hard at not abhorring spring and summer. Really and truly. The first step is with my wardrobe, and I’m actively planning my spring/summer wardrobe. I hope to share more of that, assuming I actually get it figured out. 🙂
For now, I’ve taken to my nail polish collection to get me revved up for the warm weather that will surely be coming our way. I mean, this week feels nothing like spring (and of course we still have a few weeks to go), but last week kind of got me in the mood. Our daffodils bloomed, the trees had a few extra leaves, and it felt really good to be outside. I am itching to paint my nails with gorgeous pinks and purples, so I had to share them with you all!
You’ll probably notice some repeats from last year or even the year before. My taste in colors and textures doesn’t change that much, and there are some brands to which I am extremely loyal. I hope this inspires you to find a new nail polish for spring!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Nail Polish in Daisy
I hope it’s not secret that I love Marc Jacobs Beauty. The brand’s esthetic is so clean and sophisticated. The packaging is gorgeous, and the products are very, very effective. I honestly can’t think of one of their products that I’ve tried and haven’t absolutely loved. Their polishes are no exception. This gorgeous, pale, iridescent pink is juts one of many that I own. How perfect is this color?
Sadly, I could only find this on Amazon. This must be one of the shades that they’ve rotated out of the usual lineup. If it’s no longer available on Amazon when you read this, the next color is a very close second (and tons cheaper)!
Wet ‘n’ Wild Nail Polish in Sugar Coat
For me, this is a beauty staple. In fact, this is the second bottle that I’ve owned. I can’t figure out why it doesn’t have a higher review on Amazon, but I absolutely love this. The color is the perfect pinky nude, and it could easily suit a lot of different skin tones. You can build it up, it’s not streaky, and I find that it lasts about 4-5 days. With the amount of typing I do every day, that is really good. I always try to extend the life of my polish with a coat of Seche Vite.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Touch Me Tease Me
Last year, I purchased a Deborah Lippmann nail polish set called Bed of Roses. It’s a small collection of nude or neutral polishes, and they are all so lovely. This particular color and one more (below) really stand out to me. This nude shade is just on the side of pinky nude. It’s definitely a pink but it’s so soft and beautiful, it will go with everything.
Lauren B Beauty in #ImsoLA
This polish shows up in my spring or summer polish round ups year after year. This is a brand that I discovered through Petit Vour, and I can not believe there isn’t more hype about it. This cruelty free brand has such a gorgeous range of colors, and this one is a lot of fun for spring (and summer as well, of course!). Have you ever tried this brand? I’m really interested in trying out some more colors.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in Lay Lady Lay
It wouldn’t be spring without a little purple. Does purple remind you of spring like it does me? I don’t know why, but purple is something I gravitate toward in the spring months. This is so, so pretty and, again, from the Bed of Roses collection. This is definitely a neutral purple, which will work for a lot of different skin tones. I know I’ve gone on about the Bed of Roses collection, but it is truly worth the money!
Smith & Cult in Fauntleroy
It wouldn’t be a round up without Smith & Cult. This brand is so fun, and I love reading the names of their polishes. Of course, I had to include a super girly purple in my spring faves. Spring is literally the only time of year that I pull out this polish. Doesn’t it just scream spring/Easter?
What polish are you wearing right now?
