Every time I get my Petit Vour box in the mail, I get so excited to share it with you all. Discovering new cruelty free and natural brands is so much fun, and my goal is to build my Petit Vour box reviews to help other people navigate the world of cruelty free and natural skincare and beauty. It can be daunting to switch over your entire beauty routine, but I feel pretty confident about it now! In a couple months, it will be a year since I decided to go cruelty free and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Keep scrolling to see the February box from Petit Vour!
The always-adorable information card is perfect for February, with the red heels and all the girly feels. I know Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but there’s always a reason to feel girly and get dressed up. Also, I might have a small collection of these cards because I can’t rid of the art. Does anyone else feel the same way?
Elate Cosmetics Creme Revealer, $12 sample, $20 full-size
As always with Petit Vour, they list the dollar value of the sample along with the price of the full-size product. I love that they include that information. Of course, I could easily figure it up myself, but it does make it easier to see the value that’s included in the box.
This Creme Revealer is basically a superhero concealer. It can correct and conceal under-eye circles, blemishes, scares, and more. Unfortunately, it’s only availalabe in three shades and this one is a little too dark for me. It does conceal my under-eye circles, which is a feat not many concealers can accomplish. I used this as a base and then used a lighter concealer over top. That combo brightened my under-eye areas very well, but it did crease as the day went on. Concealer creasing is something that I just deal with — every single concealer I’ve ever tried has creased to some degree. I do think this is worth $20, if I get the lightest shade.
Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Healing Anti-Blemish Face Balm, $15 sample, $30 full size
This face balm made my whole box smell amazing! Of course, the scent was the first thing I noticed. It has such a fresh, citrusy smell. I could smell this all day, to be honest. This multi-tasking face balm combats acne, redness, scars, dermatitis, and reduces fine lines. It is antioxidant-rich and insanely good at calming down redness. Add to that long list, pore reducing and balancing hydration. It’s basically good skin in a jar.
I used this on a few spots on my face last week, and it drastically reduced the redness on my face overnight. It definitely has a greasy texture, but it does sink into the skin. If you don’t like that feeling on your face, I would leave it as the last step of your skincare routine before you go to bed. That way, it’s absorbing while you’re snoozing.
My skin looked so fresh and new in the morning, I will be purchasing this after my sample runs out. You can color me impressed, and I’m glad a little goes a long way!
Derma-E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub with Activated Charcoal, $2 sample, $15 full-size
Derma-E is a brand I’ve seen in Walgreens before. To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure if it was a good brand. It’s so affordable, I never thought to research if it’s cruelty free. I know that sounds bad, but I thought it was just another conventional drugstore skincare brand. Lesson learned: Walgreens has amazing skincare that’s cruelty free (this brand and YourGoodSkin!).
My skin loves a good exfoliation, and this one has been so nice. There are particles in the formula that exfoliate your skin. They’re very gritty, but my skin is not sensitive to scrubs. If you have particularly sensitive skin when you exfoliate, I would not try this one.
Aside from the exfoliating particles, the formula has a creamy texture. This scrub works to lift away micro-pollutants and impurities. It leaves you with fresh skin that feels very clean and renewed. I also felt a little cooling sensation after I rinsed it off. It felt so good. A quick glance at the ingredient list does not reveal anything that would cool the skin, but it does feel amazing. I highly recommend this if you love a scrub as much as I do.
Red Apple Lipstick Lip Liner, $23
This is a brand I’ve heard a lot of great things about. They are known for their lipsticks. I’ve never tried any of their products, and I am very glad to have a full size lip liner to add to my collection. This color could not be more perfect. Dusty Rose is exactly that type of shade that is perfect for everyday wear.
This lip liner is gluten-free, hyper-pigmented, and allergen-free. You can use it under lipstick to extend wear, or you can wear it alone as a gorgeous matte lip color. I tend to use lip liners by themselves, usually over a little gloss. I’ll be sure to report back about this one!
