If you’re no stranger to my Stitch Fix
hauls, you know that I absolutely love Princess Kate’s style. I truly
enjoy following her style journey, and while I rarely have an occasion
to wear the same outfits that she does I do love the classic lines and
colors of her wardrobe. I always request that my box be inspired by her
style, and this is the fourth box that I’ve requested brands that are
made in the USA..
In case you didn’t catch my last haul, you can check that out here. I kept a cardigan box and had a hilarious mistake on one item that I wanted to keep (it was sent back). I was super excited to get this box and, as you’ll
see below, it was hard to decide what to keep. This is the first box in a while that I’ve kept more than one item. I was dangerously close to keeping three, but I reigned it in and settled on two items that I really love.
STITCH FIX REVIEW – MARCH 2018 OUTFITS
Tea N Rose Kenna Open Cardigan, green, size L, $54
And we’re starting off with an item I sent back. As I said before, there were three items that I loved but I only kept two. This cardigan is one that I was very close to keeping. My love for cardigans knows no bounds, and I absolutely love the dusty green color. The length of the body of the cardigan was great, and it has pockets. The open style is also great, as I don’t normally button up my cardigans. The only qualm I had was the length of the sleeves. It’s quite unusual to find a normal (non-petite) cardigan that has sleeves that fit me. If I kept this, the sleeves would nearly always be rolled back, so I packed this up to return.
Pink Clover Hatch Mixed Print Knit Top, dark grey, size L, $46
What a great casual top! I have so many casual tops right now, I couldn’t justify keeping it. It did tick all my boxes, though. Great length while also covering my bottom, one of my favorite colors, mixed prints, and elbow patches. It was hard to send this one back.
French Grey Gerarda Ruffle Hem Brushed Knit Dress, teal green, size XL, $54
I asked my stylist to send some Easter-inspired dresses. It’s about time to start thinking about spring dresses, can you believe it? I was blown away when I pulled this dress out of the box. I love the colors so much. The sleeves are very pretty and flowy. My arms are covered but don’t feel restricted. The color palette is right up my alley. The pinks, greens, and teal play off each other so beautifully. You can see that it defines my waist, which is done with an elastic portion. I was very happy the elastic is not scratchy. Even if I don’t wear this for Easter, I am very happy with this.
41 Hawthorn Delora Knit Dress, dark pink, size XL, $74
My stylist also sent me this gorgeous colored dress. Unfortunately, it made me look a little too matronly. I see why she went it. The cut is great, and overall the look is slimming. The arm holes were a little too big, and the v-neck would not feel comfortable in church. The color is okay, but it just wasn’t me. This was sent back.
tgla Joy Distressed Skinny Jean, blue, size 14, $68
My stylist mentioned in m note that I haven’t received jeans in a while. How timely of her, because I have been in a purging/purchasing cycle with my jeans. My absolute favorite jeans have reached the end of their road. I need to patch them up so I can use them while we do yardwork, but they are beyond repair for wearing out of the house/yard. I found three pairs from Loft that fit me, but I do hope to find a more ethical brand that makes amazing curvy petite jeans. For now, the Loft and these jeans will do. As you can see, they are most definitely not the right inseam. I prefer a 24 or 25 inch inseam. That length can be worn with flats or heels, plus they are easily paired with calf high boots. I believe the inseam of these tgla jeans are 30 inches, so I will have them tailored.
The aspect that sold me on these jeans is that they are high waisted. I don’t need a belt, and I don’t feel the need to constantly pull them up or readjust them. Pear shaped ladies, please tell me you feel my pain in regards to that!
To recap, I kept the French Grey dress and the tgla skinny jeans. For my next Stitch Fix review, I have asked my stylist to send me spring items that she thinks I will love, with a focus on work appropriate tops.
