Happy Monday! I hope you are well on your way to having an amazing week. Today I want to share my three favorite highlighters. These past few months, I’ve been a little highlighter kick to give myself a little glow. I thought it’d be helpful to share my thoughts and swatches! The swatches are actually on my hand. I did it this way in order to build up the product more heavily than I would on my face. In photographs, the highlight does not necessarily come through as well when I photograph it on my face. In person, these are all gorgeous highlighters that give you a ‘lit from within’ glow. They are all very pretty!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Light/Medium
First things first, I should apologize for the state of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I think this just proves how well-loved it is. 🙂 This kit has three contour shades and three highlight shades. Personally, I have three favorites and have stuck with them. I hope to get around to the other three, but for now the highlight shades in Sand and Banana and the contour shade in Fawn work really well for me.
But this post is all about the glow-y highlights, so we’re going to talk about Sand. Although Banana is a highlight shade, I use it specifically under my eyes. The shade Sand has a gorgeous glow that really looks natural. You can see how well-loved it is! This is so gorgeous, and I’m glad it works on my pale skin; although, I could see it working for anyone depending on what look you want. Plus, at $40, this kit is a great way to try a few contour/highlight shades to see what you like.
Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder in Afterglow
I couldn’t not include something from the drugstore. This has been my favorite affordable highlighter lately. Now, I have to warn you that it’s intense. But, all that means is you have to use a light hand and this will last you forever! This is the lightest shade in the Strobelight collection. Each highlighter is an intense, all-out glow. This is not the type of highlighter you want to build up with layers, unless you like the wet highlighter look (I don’t). At $9.99, you really can’t beat such a high quality yet affordable highlighter!
xobeauty Radiant Glow Highlight Powder in Aurora
I saw this highlighter recommend on ThaTaylaa’s youtube channel, and I instantly ordered it. I take Taylor’s recommendations pretty seriously, but when she raved about this being gorgeous on pale skin I knew I needed to try it. She was so right — it is gorgeous! The powder is one of the most finely milled, which gives you the most perfect lit-from-within glow. I love to use this not only as a highlighter but also to layer under blush to add more dimension to my blush color.
This ships from New Zealand, and it arrived safely and beautifully packaged. The exchanged at the time of my purchase made it $24.15, and it’s 100% worth it.
