If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I needed help with my recent Stitch Fix box. I requested a box of summer tops, and my stylist knocked it out of the park. She sent me a good variety of tops from casual to work appropriate to just plain interesting.
I loved the tops so much, but it wasn’t practical to keep all of them. I turned to Instastories and placed a poll on each item. The results were surprising!
Z Supply Tamika V Neck Knit Top, $36
Instastory Poll Results: Keep
You know how much I love stripes. so it was no surprise that this top was in my fix. I don’t think this stripe color combo has ever made its way into my wardrobe, so it was a very welcome surprise. This was so comfortable when I put it on, I had to keep it. This came with me on a weekend away, and it was also perfect for traveling.
Andrew Marc Performance Talulla Lurex Detail Knit Top, $38

I instantly thought this was cute when I pulled it out of the box. The strap detail is very fun, but I don’t think it’s something that I’ll love for years to come. The fabric was incredibly comfortable, and it had glittery thread running throughout it. As much as I love glitter, it’s not practical for every day. Additionally, since I’ve been making purchases based my wardrobe color scheme, red is not in the forefront. I love it for special occasions or statement pieces, but it’s nothing I wear in my every day wardrobe. So, this got sent back.
Bird Lynette Tie Neck Blouse, $42
Instastory Poll Results: Keep
Y’all. This blouse. It’s so pretty. I immediately wanted to keep it when I pulled it out of the box, but I had to rein myself in and try it on first. Of course, I loved it paired with these white jeans, but it also looks good with blue denim. The bottom hem is stretchy, which is something I’m not used to. Typically, I try to steer clear of items that cling around my middle. I know that tucking in my tops will make my frame look more thin, so I’m really stepping out of my comfort box by keeping this. But, I love the details, fabric, color, and the cut of this top so much that I see myself wearing this often this summer.
Cece Sportswear Harice Collared Printed Blouse, $68

I was completely enamored by this print. It’s so cute! A couple years ago, I had a really cute mint top with a really cute swimmer print that’s similar to this one. I love how summery it feels with the swimmers, bu the dark blue just doesn’t work for me in this hot weather. I also love the peter pan color, but it also made me look a little too matronly. If the cut of the top had been slimmer, it would have been cute instead of matronly. This was sent back.
Renee C Lillie Knit Top, $28

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably already know that I don’t care for tank tops. they’re just not a staple for me, even in the heat. That being said, I have a small collection of tanks in my wardrobe, but each one has some sort of special element that is unique and really makes the tank worth it. Basically, a tank really has to me interesting if I’m going to keep it. This one was nice, but not unique enough to add to my wardrobe. It was sent back.
