I was sent Hello Sunshine and When Life Hands You Lululemons for review. All opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting the brands that support this blog!
Is there anything better than lounging outside reading a book during the summer? It’s so relaxing, and it’s been my favorite thing to do lately. An hour or two in the afternoon with a book & a good drink is simply wonderful.
I have a small stack of summer reading to get through, and I don’t think they’re going to last me long. I’ve already started blazing through one, and the others sound just as amazing!
Slightly South of Simple & The Secret to Southern Charm by Kristy Woodson Harvey
Kristy Harvey practically feels like a local author. In fact, I found out about her through a friend who attended one of her events in town. I love a good, Southern girly read & these will not disappoint. This series follows a family of sisters and their mother as they navigate their future after the father’s passing. Much to the dismay of one of the sisters, they have moved back to the small seaside down to live in their family’s summer house. I am reading the first one, Slightly South of Simple, right now and am loving it. The pace is great and there are a lot of characters to keep the plot interesting. I really love the tone of Kristy’s writing style.
Hello Sunshine: A Novel by Laura Dave
This is a new-to-me author, and I’m so excited to read this. Doesn’t the cover just look like a fun summer read? Hello Sunshine is about Sunshine Mackenzie, a famous chef with tons of fans and a tv star. She loses it all, along with her husband, when she’s hacked and secrets from her past are revealed. Sunshine returns to her childhood home and attempts to save her own life. This sounds like a page turner!
When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger
Out of all of the books, this is the newest release. It came out last month. Did you ever read The Devil Wears Prada? This is by the same author! When Life Gives You Lululemons is the story of Emily Charlton after she leaves working for Miranda Priestly. As Emily is looking for her comeback, one comes along in the form of Karoline Hartwell, a famous supermodel down on her luck. With the combined efforts of Emily, Karoline, and their friend Miriam (lawyer turned stay at home mom), they each might find the comeback they want/deserve. And maybe Miranda Priestly makes a little appearance along the way…
What are you reading this summer? Anything I should add to my tbr list?
