Today is another Foundation Friday! I’m talking about a lesser known foundation called CYO Long Lasting Foundation. It’s actually well known on the internet, but you can’t get it in store. I doubt that a lot of people know about this foundation.
On the label, it also says Lifeproof. Around the internet, this known as simply CYO Lifeproof. This is a brand available at Walgreens, but I had to purchase it online.
For $7, you get 1 ounce. Shipping was free, because I shipped it to my Walgreens. Since the majority of the brand was super affordable, I snatched up a highlighter, mascara, and some bronzer. So far, the quality is really great!
CLAIMS
This foundation claims to be lightweight, not cakey, medium coverage, and long lasting. According to the website, this foundation will last around the clock and will keep your skin looking fresh and flawless.
SHADE RANGE
This foundation offers 15 shades. This particular shade is 101. On the website, they have a good variety of shades. The darkest shades look pretty dark, but of course it’s hard to really get a feel for the colors. Since this foundation is exclusively online, it would make it pretty hard to find the right shade. However, this has been a pretty popular foundation over the past year. You can find quite a few swatches available online.
HOW TO APPLY
Of course, I tried my usual ways of applying foundation. Those are a damp beauty blender and a large blending brush. The large blending brush won this time! The damp beauty blender simply makes it look too cakey and full coverage. If you want this to be full coverage, then definitely try it with a damp beauty blender. If you’re looking for a great, everyday foundation a blending brush works just fine.
MY REVIEW
Overall, I think this was an okay foundation. I see why people love it, because it is very smooth and blurring. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look amazing on my all day long. It might have been the humidity, because I was testing this out during a really, really humid week. Most of my foundations break down during the summer, which is to be expected when you live in the South.
If my suspicions are right, this might be a wonderful winter foundation for me. This matches me when I’m at my lightest. I refrained from tanning while I tested this out. 😉 I really hate to give this a bad review simply because it broke down during the summer heat, so I won’t! I will say that the majority of the claims were true for me. It was blurring and flawless, felt lightweight, and wasn’t cakey.
If you’ve tried this and live in a place where it doesn’t get humid, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
