Since September is my anniversary month at work, I decided to splurge a bit this month and purchase a new work tote. I definitely won’t be showing the tote I have been using prior to this, because it is a super simple, very used, canvas bag. It fits everything, but I’m always worried about my water bottle or travel coffee mug turning sideways in it. Enter, the Dagne Dover Classic Tote.
I first heard about this bag in a YouTube video review. It’s been on my every since. A couple months ago, the same person who reviewed posted an updated and said she has been using it nonstop since she got it a couple years ago. That was enough to convince me it was worth, especially since she has stellar reviews on other things as well. For my tote, I went with classic black in the Classic Tote size. They do offer additional sizes, such as a petite and a legend, but this size will do well for me.
As you can see below, it does fit my laptop which has a 15.5 inch screen. There are numerous pockets within the bag. One pocket is very well padded with a magnetic closure snap. With pockets for my cellphone, pens and pencils, and other work essentials, this definitely be handy on a day to day basis. The coated canvas will surely hold up for years and is also easy to keep clean.
My favorite feature of the bag is the straps. You can see in one of the pictures that they actually fold down. So, if you need this to fit into a snug space or you just prefer the handles in the ‘down’ position, they do fold down. I had to hold them down just a little bit to take the picture, and I do think they’ll soften up over time to lay down easier on their own.
The key leash will be very handy for my work keys. It seems I’m always digging around in my purse for my keys, and now they’re easily accessible. Oh, and one feature that was difficult to show was the umbrella pocket on the opposite end of the tote from the cup holder. That will especially be useful for my smaller purse sized umbrella.
