It’s been a while since I’ve done a Foundation Friday, and this just about the perfect timing. Pretty soon I’ll be doing a round up of my faves from all the foundations I tried this summer. Since our summer is so hot and humid, it was the perfect time to test out the longevity of tons of foundations. Now that summer is coming to a close, I’m not feeling the pull to try out makeup as intensely as I have been.
Today’s foundation is Milk Makeup Blue Liquid Matte Foundation. It costs $40 for 1 ounce. I ordered it from Sephora.
CLAIMS
The claims for this foundation are ultra-weightless, full-coverage foundation with an oil-free, silicone-free formula that lets skin breathe. It is designed to make application a breeze with full-coverage in one swipe. The finish claims to minimize the appearance of pores and imperfections. It is contained within a squeeze tube for a couple reasons. Firstly, it is water-based and could easily breed germs. In the squeeze tube, it does not come in contact with air or skin. The squeeze tube also allows the color to stay true and the foundation to stay within the packaging.
One point I would like to make is that it comes in a large, clear plastic containers. I, personally, feel like this packaging is excessive.
SHADE RANGE
The Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation comes in 24 colors. It ranges from very pale (me) to very dark. There are a variety of undertones within those 24 color options. Just eyeballing the shade range makes me think they have something for nearly everyone. I have color Ivory, which is the third palest shade. This is one of the very rarest occasions where I am not the lightest foundation shade! The shade Ivory matches me perfectly.
For shade comparisons, here are foundations that match me:

APPLICATION
For me, there is one way and one way only to apply this foundation, and that way is with a large buffing brush. If you’ve read my previous foundation posts, you probably already know that my favorite buffing brush is the Marc Jacobs The Face III. It costs $55 and has been worth every penny for me. I use it nearly every day, it hasn’t shed one bit, and it’s surprisingly easy to clean. If you don’t want to/can’t spend that much, I highly recommend the face set from Real Techniques or any of the large Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target. I have had huge success with those brands as well.
I have never applied this foundation with a damp beauty blender, because the formula of the Milk Makeup Blue Liquid Matte is so thick. A damp beauty blender would only make it look more full coverage and more matte, which is not what I want.
The thing I love about this foundation is that you barely need any to cover your entire face. They don’t list that as one of the claims, but I have found a little goes a long way. You all know how much I love a product that is effective in small amounts!
MY REVIEW
There was only one con while wearing this foundation, which is how badly it settles into my eyebrow lines. I don’t know why my foundation has started emphasizing my eyebrow lines so badly lately, but this Milk Makeup Blue Liquid Matte Foundation immediately settles. I press my foundation with my fingers in that spot sporadically throughout the day, and all is well again.
Overall, this foundation is amazing for me. The coverage is amazing, and I don’t need a lot to get high medium coverage. If I used more, it would very easily be completely full coverage. It looks wonderful throughout the entire day, even when it’s humid. I powder this very, very lightly, and it doesn’t look cakey at all. The price is a bit steep at $40, but I would say that’s about mid-range for foundations available at Sephora. I love that a little goes a long way and it’s in a squeeze tube, so it’s sure to last a long time for me.
I want to know if you’ve tried this & love it as much as I do!
