Throughout all of my closet purges, there are few items that have made it past round after round after round. This top is on of them, and it feels pretty darn good to fit back into it. In case you didn’t know, I’ve been following the Tone It Up meal plan and exercise plan. I’m almost 40% to my weight loss goal, and I couldn’t be happier. But that’s not what this post is about. Today’s post is all about ignoring decluttering advice and my favorite Madewell top.
Every bit of advice I’ve read about decluttering suggests getting rid of anything that doesn’t currently fit you. I thought about that advice every time I came across this top in my closet, but I just couldn’t part with it. I love the fit, material, and the color. Yellow is easily my favorite pop of color … although, you can hardly call this a pop of yellow. It’s quite a lot of yellow.
Anyways, I’m glad I didn’t follow all the decluttering advice I’ve collected over the years. This shirt would’ve been long gone, and I wouldn’t be wearing it now. I wish Madewell still carried this style of shirt. It’s so comfortable. It’s lightweight enough to wear during the summer, but it can also be layered during autumn/winter. Madewell currently has a ton of cute tops that I’ve linked below, in case you’re interested.
Is there any decluttering advice you ignore? Purging your closet is such a personal, often intimidating, process. I’ve never regretted getting rid of an item, although I think that would’ve been the case with this top!
