What a week! This is the first moment I’ve had to sit down and recap our wonderful weekend at Hill Ridge Farms. We’ve been planning a pumpkin patch trip for quite a while and we’ve been looking forward to not only getting pumpkins to carve but also to spend time with friends and family! If you’re in the central or eastern NC area, Hill Ridge Farms is a wonderful place to stop by in the fall.
The price of admission is a little pricey, at $14 for general admission, but it is entirely worth it for a day of fun. The kids have a blast, and I honestly feel like I can’t put a price on the memories we are making. It had been quite a while since we’d visited Hill Ridge Farms. It’d been 8 years! They have added a lot more activities and play areas for the kids.
The main attraction is, of course, the pumpkin patch. There were so many pumpkins to choose from, and a lot of them were light enough for the kids to carry. I would suggest doing this part of the farm first if you’re planning on taking pictures, as the play areas can get the kids’ clothes quite dirty.
I love this Stella & Dot necklace but it is forever getting tangled. This was only mid-day, and by the end of the day it was so twisted!
The kids loved the hayride. And look at all the orange in this picture! Everyone was festive. 🙂
After the hay ride, we visited the hay jump, a kind of bouncy castle without walls (a bouncy pad, maybe? I’m not sure what to call it), the corn house, the pipe swing, and so many other play areas. They do have a train ride for which we purchased tickets, but by the time we got in the line it was dinner time. The line was long, and we knew how hungry we all were. Maybe next time we’ll make it to the train!
On our way out, we did the gem mining. This was a lot of fun, and each bag is guaranteed to have some sort of gem. The kids were very excited to take a bag of goodies home. 🙂
Hill Ridge Farms also has a cute general store that was very busy! With the three kids, it was a little hectic to browse. I did try some of their fudge that someone in our group purchased, and it was absolutely delicious.
I would highly recommend planning a pumpkin patch trip soon before the season is over. It was a wonderful afternoon spent with friends and family, soaking up the fun of autumn!
