Even though Fall technically started a little over a week ago, it really feels like Fall now. This week marks the beginning of October, and we’ve had a couple of cool nights/mornings so far. This excites my cold-weather-loving-heart like you wouldn’t believe. Living in such a warm and humid climate, one of the questions I get asked is ‘when do you switch out your wardrobe?’ I keep my off-season clothing stored away (more on that in this blog post), so the answer to that question is ‘when you know, you know!’ When the weather is cool for a couple or more days in a row, that’s when it spurs the thought to unpack my fall clothes. I’m so, so excited to get started on fall outfits for the blog. My summer outfits were some of my favorites ever, but towards the end of the hot weather I was just feeling done.
This cold weather simply revitalizes me, and I can’t explain it any other way. I’m excited to continue with my wardrobe color scheme, which I never ended up sharing. I’m not sure how to go about sharing the colors I use in my wardrobe, but I promise to get around to it one day. For now, I mainly use black, white, grey, tan, blush pink, olive green, navy, ox blood (terrible name, gorgeous color), and denim/chambray blues.
That being said, I do have a lot of ‘holes’ in my wardrobe. There are so many specific pieces of clothing that I want and don’t have. You might be surprised that a black dress is one of them. That’s right, the most basic of clothing items was nowhere to be found before I found this one. The moment I felt this on the hanger, I knew it would work for me. The denim is so soft, it doesn’t really look like denim. It’s smooth, soft, and not in the slightest bit stiff. I can see myself wearing this throughout all the fall and winter months, but for now it’s bare legs and booties for me!
