Isn’t fall the best? I love this time of year, because the air is starting to feel crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and my makeup isn’t melting off my face. I typically wear a little more makeup in the fall and winter. Not only because the humidity is gone and my makeup actually lasts throughout the day, but the warm tones of all the fall colors get me in the mood to change up my makeup routine! Searching for fall makeup ideas online was a little overwhelming, because most looks have a vampy lip and really dramatic eyeshadow. I’m not super adventurous when it comes to makeup, so hopefully you’re the same as me and will also like my favorite products. I like to keep my makeup basic but also add a little warmth during the autumnal months.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
I am a huge fan of the ambient lighting powders. Each one enhances your skin in a different way. This powder is way too dark for me to use all over my face, but it’s perfect for a soft contour. If you’re new to contouring or simply don’t know how to contour this is a great product to try it out with. It’s very soft and blendable, which makes for an easy application. Just a little swipe and blend under my cheekbones is all I need during the fall and winter months. I’m pretty pale, so this is all I need to give my skin a little color and dimension.
Marc Jacobs Fineliner in Blacquer
A good, black eyeliner is always in season. I use this year round, but right now I’m applying a little bit more to add some drama to my lash line. It blends like a dream and doesn’t budge all day. This tiny eyeliner is perfect for emphasizing your lash line, and it’s fool-proof because it’s so small. It’s nearly impossible to apply too much, which also makes it perfect for mornings when you’re rushing out the door.
Urban Decay Ultimate Basics and Rodial Smoky Eyeshadow Palette
I’m reaching for warm toned eyeshadows more and more the farther we get into fall. Usually, I’m a cool-tone gal but these warm shadows have been calling my name lately! I don’t have to mix a tone of shadows to get a pretty fall look. I use one shade from the Rodial palette to emphasize my crease. Then, I blend two of the warm browns from the Urban Decay palette on the outer corner of my eyelid and smudged on my lower lash line. I use a little bit of the dark maroon as a base for my eyeliner, and one of the lighter shades as a highlight on my inner corner and brow bone. And then I’m done! I can easily do it within 5 minutes.
Fall Lipsticks
Is it just me, or is it easy to collect a ton of lipsticks? I hope I’m not the only one! Culling through my lipsticks has been pretty fun over the past year, and these three darker shades made the cut. Whether I want a darker pink neutral with my Marc Jacobs Infamous or a darker nude with the Milani Matte Naked, I’m set for the season. Throw in a little Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Chicory, and my handbag is ready for any autumnal lip situation that comes my way.
