Of all my outfit equations, this one is my favorite. When the weather cools down and I pull out all my sweaters, that is a good day. It’s like a little pre-Christmas Christmas for my wardrobe, and this year I have a new Everlane cashmere sweater to add to the mix.
Being intentional with my purchases started a few years ago with my birthday bag tradition (my bag from this year is linked here, more on that in a later post). Slowly, it’s spilled over into other areas of my closet; namely, my sweaters. Confession time! I am a sweater hoarder. I just can’t seem to get rid of them.
Example: I just sold a thrifted 100% cashmere cabled sweater that I’ve owned for 4 years. Had I ever worn it? Nope. It was just too pretty to get rid of, so it stayed in my closet for years. I finally sold it last week, and it felt good (kind of … I’m working on it).
My sweater hoarding tendencies mean that I hang on to a lot of cardigans and sweaters, but when I find a really good one I really don’t let go. This is my newest addition to my Everlane cashmere collection. I’m using the term collection pretty loosely, because it consists of a grand total of two sweaters. I hope to add a third soon in the frost donegal color. Wouldn’t that be pretty?
