Over the past year or so, ever since I read The Curated Closet, I’ve done a lot of thinking about the color scheme of my wardrobe. When I read that book, I created a few outfit equations that make me feel good, and I also came up with a rudimentary color scheme. I say it was rudimentary, because I was very apprehensive about limiting my color choices. So, my initial thoughts felt like a good starting point and assumed my color scheme would change quite a bit. I never, ever thought I’d add this rust color for fall, but here we are!
Brown has never really been prominent in my wardrobe, although cognac makes quite a few appearances. To me, cognac is just so much prettier than a plain brown. It’s warm and inviting, and it can tie an entire outfit together. This rust color has been everywhere lately, and eventually I broke down and bought this cardigan. Now I want this color in everything. It feels like an updated cognac, and it’s so autumnal. I can already tell this will be a favorite piece in my closet. I already can’t wait to pull it out of storage for next fall!
