Y’all, I am so excited to share today’s #rebeccareads review with you! Today is the release day for The Southern Side of Paradise! If you followed some of my book reviews last year, you probably know that I stumbled upon the Peachtree Bluff series by Kristy Woodson Harvey. Kristy just happens to be another North Carolinian, and I am so happy to support someone from NC!
She penned the Peachtree Bluff series, which is set on the coast of Georgia. It follows the Murphy girls through their trials of life. The series starts out with Ansley, the mother, rekindling an old relationship while her daughter Carolina has come home for the summer amidst her husband’s cheating scandal. Simultaneously, the middle daughter Sloane is home because her Army husband is currently deployed, and the third daughter Emerson is home because she’s filming a movie in the area.

Whew! The Murphy family has had a lot going on these past two books. You can read my review of the first book, Slightly South of Simple, here. You can read my review of the second book, Secret to Southern Charm, here. You most definitely have to read these in order, so make sure to start with Slightly South of Simple!
I like to be very careful with spoilers, so I will make sure to hit the points of the story that you can find out via the synopsis on the book. This book covers Ansley and Jack’s relationship along with Emerson and Mark’s … although, it’s a bit of a mystery who she’s going to end up with at the end! Each book had an overarching story line of Ansley and Jack trying to working things out, and each book had a specific story line about each of the daughters’ relationships.
It’s no secret that I love a good family drama/romance story, and this series hits both of those points for me. I found myself smiling/laughing/crying so much during this third book. By the time you get to Southern Side of Paradise, you just feel so invested in each character’s story. I love that you see all of the characters in each of the three books. The whole series is so good!
I hope you’ll pick this up as your next spring read! And, thank you, Kristy for sending it to me!
