This week is pretty exciting for me — I am finally getting back to running. I have a half-marathon schedule for next year. For this summer and the rest of the year, I will be working hard on running every week. There are many obstacles that I need to overcome before I get back to where I was, but dealing with feminine problems won’t be one of them. I thought this was the perfect time to share my gym bag essentials, along with how I manage my period every month.
Let’s dive into my gym bag!

Summer’s Eve® FreshCycle™ Cleansing Cloths
First things first, I always have these in my gym bag. These are the best way to keep myself smelling fresh during that time of the month. One of the things I love most about Summer’s Eve® is that they are continually improving over the years. Did you know that Summer’s Eve® has been around for nearly four decades? They are always improving their products and asking those uncomfortable questions to women in order to make things we need!
Their newest line, FreshCycle™, is geared directly towards our periods and keeping us fresh. The FreshCycle™ products remove odor-causing bacteria, gentle cleanse and freshen, and are proven to reduce period odor. I love that they are also free from dyes and parabens.
Just so you have an easy time finding these new products at Target, I took pics the last time I was in Target. The new products, which consist of the individually wrapped Cleansing Cloths, the pack of 24 cloths, and a No-rinse Cleansing Foam, were all together in one spot at my Target. And if you’re a couponer like I am, keep an eye out for the Cartwheel offer! Okay, here’s what to look for when you’re at Target:
While the No-rinse Cleansing Foam can be used on the go (how convenient is that?!), I prefer to keep the wipes in my gym bag. The individually wrapped cloths are great if you just need a couple to put in your purse, or you can get the 24-cloth pack and just store it in your gym bag for whenever you need it.

That’s seriously the most important part of my gym bag, aside from my gym outfit. But, these are the other things that are always stored in my gym bag:
- Underarm wipes
- My knee support wrap
- Hair ties and dry shampoo
- A small makeup bag with very minimal essentials (powder, lip products, mascara, and a mirror)
- A small towel
That’s about it for my gym bag! Now that I’ve shared how I manage my period while working out, I’d love to hear any suggestions you might have. Have you tried the new Summer’s Eve® FreshCycle™?
Wonderful news! Target has a Cartwheel app offer right now for 10% off the Summer’s Eve® FreshCycle™ products I shared in this post. Check it out here!
