Welcome back to another installment of Rebecca Reads. This is where I share what I want to read, book reviews, book lists, and anything related to reading. My summer reading has been on a roll lately, and I’m back with a book review today. Today’s book is Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han.
Always and Forever Lara Jean is the third book in this series. In case you’ve never heard of this book series, it starts with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (my review is here). To very briefly sum it up, Lara Jean has a book of love notes she’s written to all the boys she’s loved before. They get into the the wrongs and are mysteriously being mailed to all the boys she wrote about. Something good comes out of it, of course. The second book is P.S. I Still Love You. That book is about Lara Jean choosing between the two loves of her life.
For the longest time, I was completely unaware of the third book. Around the time that the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before Netflix movie (series? I haven’t watched it) came out, I saw a review of the third book. How did it take me this long ot read it? I have no idea, but it was a great summer read.
This third and final book in the series covers Lara Jean’s senior year of high school. She is with a boy (I don’t want to spoil anything if you haven’t read the second book) and is worried about college admissions. She wants to go close to home but also applied other places. To add to everything, her dad is getting married and her boyfriend’s mom is trying to break them up.
To me, this is the quintessential summer read. It’s light and fun and girly, which is everything I wanted from it. This is actually a quick read, because I finished over half of it in one evening. I am not usually a fast reader. Also, this gets ‘re-read’ points, because I can definitely see myself reading this again!
Have you read this series?
