I love sharing my favorite beauty purchases of 2019 here on my blog, so I can offer reviews and insights into cruelty free beauty. This round up has been long in the making. At the beginning of the year, I changed the way I shop at Sephora. Instead of trying anything and everything, I focused on the items that I love and repurchase. The only purchases I made were anything I needed to replace in my skincare routine. I have
Additionally, I only purchased something if I didn’t have an alternative. For example, if I had samples of facial cleansers in my stash I did not purchase another facial cleanser until those were used up. It was a really fun experiment, because know I understand what products are staples in my routine. I have a few ‘holes’ to fill in my routine, but I definitely have some tried and true favorites that are here to stay.

St. Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Mousse
This is my most-repurchased self tanner. It is the perfect shade for my skin, but I can also build it up to be a little darker. The thing that’s different about this self tanner is it’s clear (hence ‘water’ in the title). There is no color guide, so you do have to pay attention to where you apply it. It glistens on your skin when you apply it, so if you take care you won’t miss any spots. This claims to have a tropical scent, and I definitely agree with that. However it’s not completely void of that dreaded self tanner scent. I do smell it the next day after applying it, but it’s nowhere near as bad as others I’ve used.

Dermadoctor KP Duty Body Scrub
Following along the lines of body skin care, this is the best body scrub I’ve ever purchased. The Dermadoctor range has always been super effective for me. This body scrub has physical and chemical exfoliants, which give your skin the smoothest texture. I don’t think it claims to be moisturizing, but my skin always feels soft and hydrated after I use this.

Farmacy Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser
This is easily my most-repurchased cleanser of all time. I have been loving this cleanser so much. It’s super gentle, it smells amazing, and it doesn’t dry out my skin. It’s a win-win-win in my book, and it’s here to stay in my routine.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum
I bought this early in the year after watching a review on YouTube. I have tried many Vitamin C products over the years, nearly all of which made me break out. This Vitamin C serum along with the Good For You Brand (my YouTube review is here) are the only ones that have made my skin look better, not worse.
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Intense Hydration Moisturizer
I’ve been bouncing between moisturizers lately, but this is definitely the best one that I purchased with my own money. I also reviewed a natural moisturizer from Ayr Skin Care over on my Facebook page. Since I’ve limited this round up to just items I purchased myself, the Caudalie Vinosource SOS Intense Hydration Moisturizer made it into my top five beauty products of the year.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ Neck & Chest SPF
And I have a bonus product that made it in at the last moment! I’ve had a really bad patch of dry skin on my neck for a couple months. Before I go in to see my dermatologist, I figured I should try to moisturize it first. Well, this neck and chest cream has completely taken away the dry patch of skin. I do suspect that the dry patch will come back if I stop moisturizing it, so this is here to stay for now. I love that it also contains SPF.
And that’s it for my beauty round up of 2019! I know all these favorites and round ups across all the blogs you read might be overwhelming (or maybe that’s just me), so I hope this simplified list of recommendations is refreshing. And I hope you came across something you like! Please feel free to recommend any of your favorite products to me, as I would love to hear about them.
