How are is your Halloween prep coming along? We have one kid who doesn’t want to dress up, another kid who is super excited about being a T-Rex (not gonna like, I’m excited about that one too!!), and another kid who is unhappy with the costume we bought. Fun times. I know we’ll be figuring out a different costume for our youngest this weekend. Talk about a tight deadline! We bought the costume way, way too early when Target released their Halloween pre-orders. I should have known it was too early! Anyways, I wanted to travel down memory lane to some Halloween costumes we’ve had that we love.
In 2016, the boys were Ghostbusters. We found the costumes online and DIY’ed the goggles and proton packs. I really should have blogged about making the proton packs and goggles. We had so much fun being creative with this! Of course, when we were making them late at night we kind of regretted our decision. But, they did look really cool!

That same year, our daughter was Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. I made the dress and bow, and we found some leggins and ballet flats for her to wear. I ordered the broom and Gigi (the cat) online.
This was also the year we did family costumes. I was the librarian ghost from Ghostbusters, and my husband was the account who gets possessed. It was a lot of fun but I haven’t been able to convince anyone to do family costumes since!
Thanks for letting me travel through my Halloween costumes memories! This time of year is so much fun, and I hope you’ll savor your memories as much as I cherish my own. If 2020 has taught me one things, it’s that memories are so important. Let me know what you’re dressing up as for Halloween! I’d love to hear about it.
