About a month ago, I decided to order a thredUP Goody Box. I’d heard of them before, but honestly just love to pick out my own thrifted items. I wasn’t entirely sold on the idea that someone else would thrift better than I can for myself. Then, I saw that Carly had a collaboration with the thredUP Goody Boxes. You can order a preppy-inspired thredUp box and, honestly, I am here for that. When I thrift I err on the side of preppier styles because they are more classic and safer options. Here’s what I received in my Carly thredUP Goody Box!
In case you’ve never heard of the thredUP Goody Box, it costs $10 for thredUp to put together a box of clothes for you. This particular box is the Carly thredUP Goody Box, but you can request just a regular box if that’s what you like. The $10 deposit gets applied to whatever you purchase.

First up, I was sent these two pieces from Ann Taylor Loft. I really loved the top but didn’t care for the ‘cold arm’ detail. I say that in jest, because I just recently purchased my first cold shoulder top and haven’t quite upgraded to a ‘cold arm.’
These jeans were insanely comfortable and soft, but I did not like the stripe down the sides. I would have kept them if the stripe wasn’t there!

This outfit is so me. I love a chambray top with white pants. These obviously were not the right size. This top is from Madewell. As is the case with Madewell, they are not pear-shape friendly. As you can see, the bottom flares out a bit. These jeans were not terrible, but I would rather have a longer inseam. This is verging on capri length from early 2000s and I am not here for that.

Another ‘me’ outfit! This is actually another top from Madewell. As you can see, it fits much better. I love a chambray top and really can’t have too many. I kept this one!

I was so, so happy to see a blazer in my box. This is a beautiful navy gingham blazer from J. Crew. It’s so pretty and it fits me well. I cuffed the sleeves so you could see the contrast lining. This white top is also from J. Crew. It fit but it wasn’t the best fit for me. I could only see my wearing this strictly with the blazer, and I really prefer to add pieces that mix and match more.
I paired these two pieces with a pair of my own jeans. I was also sent a pair of navy pixie pants but they were too small.

Here is the same outfit, only with the blazer switched out for a J. Crew wool cardigan. I love this color combo! I could see myself wearing this white peplum with this cardigan as well. But, the fit wasn’t absolutely perfect.

This is the last piece in my box, an Ann Taylor Loft sweater. I love this. The color, the pattern, and the style are exactly what I love. The arm holes were a bit tight for my preferences, so I decided to send this back. It was so hard to send it back, though! I will definitely be ordering another Carly thredUP Goody Box!
Overall, I am impressed with the Carl thredUP Goody Box. It absolutely was my preferred style and colors. I need to adjust my preferred sizes, as is the case with many thrifted pieces I own. You simply can’t tell how the piece was cared for in the past. If pieces were put through a dryer, they might not be the size that is on the tag. I can’t fault thredUP for that at all! When getting, what is a essentially, a mystery grab bag of clothing items, the aspect I’m most concerned with is that the pieces that were chosen for me match my style. I am 100% happy with the styles that were sent to me, and can’t wait to try another thredUP Goody box!
