After all the crazy events of 2021 (gosh, I wish that was a joke!), I pretty much lost my creative motivation. I’m sure you can understand. I’d like to pick up where I left off and share my final round up for last year, which is my favorite skincare of 2020.
I discovered a new-to-me brand and added some truly effective skincare into my routines. My skin has literally never looked better, and I go without my heavier foundations more often now. That has been really helpful, considering it’s pretty useless wearing foundation right now due to either wearing a mask or being home 90% of the time. In fact, whenever I wear foundation right now it’s most likely the Ilia Skin Serum. It’s extremely light weight and nourishes your skin. I will be doing a review this year.
MAELOVE SKINCARE
For skincare, I discovered Maelove at the beginning of the pandemic. When I say their products changed my skin, I mean that in every aspect possible. My skin looks and feels so much healthier. I started out with their fade scar spots kit. I’ve since used their cleansing oil, eye cream, and day cream. I use their day cream and vitamin c serum every single morning. I use their night renewing cream every other night, and their cleansing oil is my favorite way to remove my makeup at the end of the day.

CAUDALIE SKINCARE
I added a few Caudalie skincare products to my routine this year, and I’ve been very happy with them. The first is the hydrating toner. It adds a little boost of hydration before I apply my moisturizer, and I’ve actually seen a difference in my skin. The second product I love is their brightening essence. This is applied after toner and before serum, and I’ve also seen a difference in my skin since using it. In fact, this essence is from Caudalie’s Vinoperfect line, and all the products I’ve tried in that range are wonderful.
NECESSAIRE BODY CARE
Another brand I tried in 2020 is Necessaire. They are a west coast based skincare company that is well known for their body care. I have tried a lot of their products, and the one that stands out is their body serum. I was skeptical, because I don’t have much luck with body lotions and creams. There are a few faves in my skincare drawer, but more often than not I’m left unimpressed by lotion and cream. This body serum actually combines with lotion or cream to keep the hydration on your skin. I have instantly seen a difference in my extremely dry areas, such as my knees, elbows, and ankles. I am thoroughly impressed and never want to be without this! Other products I have used and like or love are their body wash in eucalyptus and their body lotion.
Those are my stand out products for 2020. I honestly tried a lot of things, but these are the ones that really stood out. Let me know what you tried and loved in 2020!
