Every so often, I change up my skin care routine and love to share it here. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m love skincare more than I love makeup. Give me a glowy moisturizer over a glowy foundation any day! Last year, I really amped up my skincare. Over the years, I’ve run the gamut from being super minimal to being super extra with my skincare. Well, friends, I’m in an extra phase right now. Here is my evening skincare routine.

EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE
Since there a few steps, I’m going to share things in the order that I use them or apply them. Just a few background tidbits. I have combination oily skin. My skin is typically dehydrated. If I don’t wear moisturizer, it feels very tight and dry on my cheeks. I used to have acne prone skin, but since changing my diet it has vastly improved.
CLEANSING MY FACE
My first step is always to remove my makeup and cleanse my face. I’ve been doing a double cleanse for years and really will never go back to washing my face once. A double cleanse involves removing your makeup, usually with an oil-based product, and then cleansing your face with a facial cleanser.
I’ve been using the Maelove Day Eraser and love it. Other makeup removers I’ve tried and love are the Farmacy Cleansing Balm and the Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 Cleanser. They are all great and get the job done. My favorite facial cleanser is the Farmacy Clean Bee Ultra-Gentle Face Cleanser. It’s super gentle and simple. This doubles as my morning cleanser.
TONER AND ESSENCE
The next step is toner and essence. I put these together in the same category, because they are the thinnest products that I use. I specifically use toner and essence to help my skin retain moisture. You can find toner and essence for a large variety of skin concerns. I’ve tried so many different ones, but the best ones for my skin are hydrating. My goal at night is to give my skin all the moisture it needs. Last year, I added in a Caudalie toner and essence and really saw a difference in my skin. Although I have combination oily skin, my cheeks tend to get dry very easily. I apply the toner first and while it dries, I put on my eye cream (which is technically the next step). After the eye cream, I apply the essence and wait for that to sink in before going on to the step after eye cream.
EVENING EYE CREAM

Currently, I use two different eye creams. My eye cream in the morning is for brightening and has SPF. At night, I want an eye cream that is super hydrating and great for my skin. Right now, I’m switching between three or four eye creams. I’m using the Lancome Genefique eye cream for the next three months as part of an influencer program. My other eye creams are Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Firming Eye Gel-Cream and Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery. Honestly, I love them all equally because they do different things. They all hydrate really well and I love the way my skin looks the next morning.
EVENING SERUMS

My serums are probably my favorite part of my skincare routine. I feel like this is where you can really get some great active ingredients on your skin and make a huge difference. I switch between a few serums. A couple times a week, I’ll do a retinol serum. The other nights, I do the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum. When I am testing out a serum, I typically just use that serum. But, the Sunday Riley retinol oil and the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Serum are the ones I love to use when I’m not trying out new products. I’m currently testing out the Lancome Genefique Serum.
EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE MOISTURIZER

I have a couple of favorite moisturizers that I absolutely love. The Caudalie S.O.S. Intense Hydration Moisturizer is so, so good for that extra boost of moisture my skin needs at night. My other fave moisturizer is the Night Rewnewal Cream from Maelove. This is really great if you want to hydrate and exfoliate at the same time.
FACIAL OIL
I finish of my face skincare routine with a really great facial oil. Right now, I’m using the Jack Black MP 10 Nourishing Oil. I tried this oil a couple years ago as a sample and I absolutely loved the way it made my skin feel. If you’re looking for just a basic, great facial oil, I would start with this one! I also want to try the Biossance Rose Oil, but that will have to wait until I’ve finished up the Jack Black oil.
Some other things that I use in my skincare routine are a neck emulsion from Dr. Dennis Gross and a facial toning device. The neck emulsion contains Ferulic Acid and Retinol, so it’s really great for your anti-aging concerns. I have been very impressed with my results.
Before I start my skincare routine, but after I’ve removed my makeup, I use my Nuface Facial Toning Treatment. This is a device I bought during the last Sephora sale, and it’s another product/treatment that I have had amazing results with. I’ve thought about doing a dedicated post to it, so let me know if you have any questions about it.
Thanks for checking out my skincare routine! I truly love ending every day with my skincare routine. It’s something I look forward to everyday. What is your skincare routine like?
