I love an excuse to cozy up with a good book, and winter is the perfect season. It’s so cold here in January/February. Even though the South doesn’t get the frigid temperatures like up North, the humidity in the air makes it feel so much colder than it actually is. I wanted to share my winter reading list, because it’s nearly the weekend!
There are always a few books on my nightstand or downloaded on my kindle reader, so these are the ones that are currently in rotation. While I have a paper white kindle reader that I love (and I mean LOVE), I also have the kindle app downloaded on my iPhone so I can always read wherever I am.
I keep my physical books at home, unless I really want to read something. If that’s the case, I will throw it in my purse. But, typically, I save my physical books to read while I’m at home.
Within the past year, I’ve finally gotten into audio books. In the past, I’ve tried them and just failed to connect with the story or found that mind wanders. Bumping up the speed and looking for good, recommended narrators has helped a ton. Now, I frequently listen to an audio book while I drive to and from work.
PHYSICAL BOOK I’M READING

I’m on a huge organizing spree right now, and this book is full of inspiration. While I don’t think organizing my house into a color theme, like they show in this book, is the best use of my time … I do find this to be inspirational/aspirational and gets me off my butt. I’ve recently started with our closet and bathroom. I also re-organized the drop zone in our kitchen. If you’re in need of organizational inspiration, this book has a ton!
The Scandinavian culture has always intrigued me, and this book is one I turn to when I need a little mental refresh. Although I love (LOVE) the winter months, I also feel a little drained at this time of year. This book has little tips and tricks for living a happy life, and I find them very useful this time of year.
AUDIOBOOKS I’M LISTENING TO
When I don’t have podcasts to listen to while I drive, I turn to Audible. I have a small library of audiobooks on my app and it will probably take me the entire year to get through them. Right now, I am listening to Code Helene. This is historical fiction, but it’s based on a real spy during WWII.
KINDLE BOOKS I’M READING

It would probably be more appropriate to read this in December. I always intend to read Christmas themed books during the holiday season, but then I don’t have time. I decided to just go ahead and read this even if it’s not December. This is historical fiction set during WWI. The beginning starts off with one of the characters traveling to Paris during Christmas, and then the rest of the book (so far, from what I’ve read) is flashback to WWI. It’s written in letter form, which I really enjoy.
If you’re an avid reader like me, you might enjoy the Kindle Valentine’s Day Sale! My husband bought me my Kindle Paperwhite for Valentine’s Day three years ago,and I have loved it so much. It’s small and it fits in all my bags, and I love that it’s backlit. That way, I can read at night without a glaring light in my face. Let me know if you have any questions!
I’d love to hear what you’re reading right now!
