It’s that time of year … beach season! Although, I’m sure some people would argue you can go to the beach any time of the year. We really prefer going when it’s warm. I love that we’re close enough to make it a day trip to the coast, but can definitely stay an entire weekend when we have time. I wanted to share my beach essentials, which can be narrowed down into just a few categories — books, spf, and minimal makeup.

There is a little more that’s as relaxing as sitting in a beach chair, listening to the waves and reading a book. I haven’t decided if I’ll take a physical copy or my Kindle reader, but either way I’ll definitely be reading as much as possible. The book pictured is one I just finished, which I shared in my recent books I finished. My Kindle Paperwhite is a great option, because it gives me more options. Decisions, decisions!

SPF is so important! I shared my favorite spf products last week, and you can read it here. I love Supergoop! products. I will bring the under-eye spf along with my everyday CC cream. These are only the products that go in my makeup bag. We have a separate spf for when we’re out on the beach. We are a family who burns easily, so we take spf very seriously when we’re in the sun.

My minimal beach makeup is really just my minimal travel makeup. These are my go-tos! I don’t wear my Flutterhabit lashes when we head to the coast. I like to just keep it simple and I don’t want to carry along my glue and tweezers and everything. This mascara combo has been a fave for over a year. You really can’t beat the Tarte primer and Surfer Curl Mascara. I also have a small size of the Ilia Limitless Lash, because it combs through my lashes so well. For my brows, I fill them in very minimally with my Glossier Boy Brow and Brow Flick in brown.
MY FAVORITE EVERYDAY SPF
What are your beach essentials? Are you a minimal packer or an overpacker? I am recovering overpacker, so I completely understand both sides!
