I recently shared that I am officially out of my reading slump. There’s just something about the summer air that puts me in the mood for a good book! Recently, I finished two audiobooks, one paperback book, and one kindle book. Here are the recent books I finished! I’d love to hear about your recent books as well.

China Rich Girlfriend (Crazy Rich Asians #2) by Kevin Kwan
I read the digital copy, borrowed from my library via Overdrive and Kindle. If I have my choice of edition, I always go for the digital edition because it’s so portable. I either have my Kindle Paperwhite with me, or I have it downloaded on my Kindle app on my phone. Easy peasy! So, China Rich Girlfriend is the second book in the Crazy Rich Asians series. This series around the world that not many people have access to — the uber rich. If you haven’t read the first book, I will try very hard to not give anything away. But, there is a wedding happening and tons of drama surrounding it. I really enjoyed this and finished it quickly. I gave it four stars on Goodreads.
Float Plan by Trish Doller
This is a quick, beachy (pun intended) read about Anna, who has just survived the first 10 months after her fiance passed away to suicide. They had plans to sail around the world together, so one morning she gets up and decides to follow his passage by herself on their boat. After her first terrible night, she realizes it’s impossible for her to sail by herself. At her first island in the Caribbean, she hires Keane to sail with her to Puerto Rico. The story is about their journey through the Caribbean together, while they’re both healing from past trauma. I couldn’t put this down, and it’s the perfect summer read. I gave this four stars on Goodreads.
My Lady Jane (The Lady Janies #1) by Cynthia Hand
I listened to the Audible audiobook, narrated by Katherine Kellgren. I did not expect for this to be so funny! This story is very (and I mean VERY) loosely based on England’s 9 day queen, Lady Jane. Suffice to stay, that is where the similarities stop. This is full of fantasy adventure, hi-jinks, and witty sarcasm. This is hilarious! I gave it four stars on Goodreads.
As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes
This is another Audible audiobook, and it’s narrated by Cary Elwes along with the cast of The Princess Bride. If you’ve never watched The Princess Bride, don’t listen to this. Honestly. Go and watch The Princess Bride about 10 times and then download this audiobook and listen to it. I laughed, I cried… it’s just so nice to get a behind the scenes ‘look’ at the movie. It very nearly didn’t happen! I gave this five stars on Goodreads.
Thanks for checking out the recent books I finished! What’s on your summer reading list right now? I shared a few of my current reads here.
