It was a goal of mine (hilarious) to share my yearly/monthly goals in January and then at the beginning of every month. Time just got away from me, and between a very fun vacation in December and also January, and then everything that comes along with February and March … suddenly it was Spring and I hadn’t shared anything.
For goal tracking, I use my Cultivate What Matters planner. When I did my spring refresh before April started, it really and truly felt like a refresh of my brain. A couple goals from January were no longer at the forefront, and other goals were more important. I know everyone experiences this. In fact, in prior years this is about the time when all my goals just fall off my radar. This year, I have committed to use my Cultivate What Matters planner for the entire year.
I’m not stranger to CWM, having used the planners many years. And by ‘use’ I definitely mean … I started strong in January and at some point during the year would completely forget about it until the fall, when it was time to buy a new one for the following year. 2022 has been different for me. When I ordered my planner in the fall, I decided to use it to its full potential. I scheduled a day to attend Cultivate Your Live (online) and I purchased a Goal School membership. Now, I will say that neither one of those things are necessary to meet my goals. They were just what I chose to use to spur myself along.

Here’s what’s happening in April:
-My husband’s birthday! We have reservations at Chef & The Farmer in Kinston, our favorite place to celebrate anything.
-Easter of course! Easter basket items have been procured, a ham has been purchased, and egg dyeing supplies are at the ready. Also, we all have new Easter outfits purchased.
-Spring Break is almost here. I am taking time off to just be at home with the kids.
-Also, strawberries are in season! Our strawberry picking excursion has been scheduled.
What I’m reading right now:
-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling
-Being Mortal by Atul Gawande
-You can check out my 2022 book list here. I’ll be doing a ‘what I read in March’ post next week.
My April goals:
-Search for a white wood and glass plant cabinet. It has very specific measurements, so I don’t think this will be a quick find.
-Finalize the paver/stone options and design for a patio and firepit in the backyard.
-Go to bed at 9pm every night. This is tied to my ‘move my body everyday’ goal. Any later than 9 and is very hard to get up at 5am!
-Finish the Kneedles + Life pattern marketing course. This is part of a larger goal to learn knit wear pattern design and release a sock pattern this upcoming Fall. You can find my knitting blog here.
-Finish Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I am on track to finish the series before we go to Universal in October!
What are your goals for April?
