Happy Friday, friends! Today I want to share a review that has been in my drafts for a while. This is my honest Louis Vuitton Neverfull review. As I’ve mentioned before, every year I buy myself a bag for my birthday. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM size is the bag I bought in 2019, and the GM size is the bag I bought in 2021. I have been using the MM size for a nearly years, so it’s definitely time to write my review.

This is my 2019 birthday bag, the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM in Damier Azur with the Rose Ballerine interior. This bag had been on my list for years, and I was so excited to buy it for my birthday! This has been my everyday bag for nearly 3 years. Every time I switch my stuff to different bag, I go straight back to this one, which is one of the reasons it’s definitely time for my Louis Vuitton Neverfull review.
LV Neverfull Purchasing Decisions
First, I’d like to cover how I purchased this bag. There are many different resale sites that carry Louis Vuitton Neverfulls, but I decided that I wanted my first Louis Vuitton to be brand new. I ordered this directly from the Louis Vuitton website. This was back in 2019, when stock issues were virtually non-existent. Occasionally, things would be listed as out of stock but could come back relatively quickly. LV offers expedited shipping on nearly all online purchases, so the bag arrived quickly within 2 days.
LV Neverfull Design Elements
The design of the bag is very simple. It’s a large tote constructed out of coated canvas with a fabric lining. There is a small flat zippered pocket on one side of the interior. The exterior has slide ties that allow you to slightly change the shape of the bag. A pochette (pouch) is included and has a clasp so you can attach it to the purse. It isn’t a structured bag but will stand on its own. There is a small gold clasp at the top of the purse, so it can be ‘closed.’ But, since it’s not zippered, it is always open. One design element that stood out to me immediately when I opened the box was the beautiful yellow stitching. In all the reviews I had read/watched online, I never noticed the yellow stitching. The color works so well with the canvas, leather and lining.
My Thoughts on the Louis Vuitton Neverfull
There are so many things I love about this bag. I can fit a ton in it and the straps are still comfortable. In fact, the straps are one of my favorite aspects of the design. They’re skinny yet sturdy, so they stay up on my shoulders. Although I love the pink interior, it is prone to scuffs and stains if you aren’t precious with it. I am not rough on my purses, but I use this one so frequently that there are quite a few marks on the interior. They can easily be remedied with a shout wipe and a wet cloth. In fact, I have gotten a coffee stain out of the interior using that method.
All that to say, the exterior is still flawless going on 3 years. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the coated canvas. I have used this tote for so much over the years. It has been my everyday purse, a work tote, a travel bag for a weekend trip, etc. I love how the leather has aged. The vachetta is so pretty the older it gets!
Despite the name Neverfull, I have, in fact, filled it full. This tote carries so much and, yet, is still easy to carry. The straps are so easy to throw on my shoulder, no matter how much I have in it. It’s extremely useful while shopping as well. It is easy to get in and out of it. On a regular day, I can keep my Powersheets Planner, wallet, pouch, sunglasses, a 40 oz Stanley tumbler in it, along with all the smaller items like keys, chapstick, pen, etc., in the side pouch.
At first I though the pochette would be useless, but I definitely use it for times I don’t want to carry a large purse. It has a small, flat pocket inside so I can use that space for my cash/cards and keep the larger area for my keys. The pouch will fit my LV key holder with three car fobs on it.

The next Neverfull I purchased was the GM size in the Monogram with Beige interior. All of my thoughts on the MM size apply to the GM size. Only, this GM size is huge. It’s so big, and what I originally intended this for was travel. This is perfect to carry on a plane or to use as a weekender bag for a short trip. I love using this to travel in, because it’s so easy to fill up a few medium/small packing cubes and throw them in the tote.
The one thing that I love about this GM tote is the beige interior. I wouldn’t change the first bag for anything. The pink interior is so gorgeous. However, I think the beige interior will not show wear and tear quite as much as the this beige.
I did try to use this GM tote as a work bag for a couple months after I purchased it. It’s just so big to use as an everyday bag. It’s beautiful and I do use it occasionally when we’re going somewhere, but it’s not practical for every day. My MM size is perfect for that.
Overall, these bags have been really great additions to my wardrobe. I only buy one purse a year, so I put a lot of though into what I purchase. I see these lasting for a very, very long time. Also, next time I purchase LV I will be on the lookout for a beautiful second hand one. I love the idea of purchasing a vintage designer bag.
Although I enjoy these purses, they are by no means a requirement in my wardrobe. I had these purses on my ‘bags to buy’ list for many years before I was able to purchase them. It was worth waiting until the time was right, and it absolutely is not worth going into debt over. There are many, many beautiful work totes out there, one of which is made by Dagne Dover (my review is here) that cost just a fraction of the cost of an LV.
If you’re on the hunt for one, I hope this honest Louis Vuitton Neverfull review was helpful for you! Let me know if I can answer any questions.
