It’s that time again! Time to round up my favorite beauty and skin care products from the month of August! And here we go…
When I gathered my favorites together, I noticed one common theme — gorgeous, glowing skin. I wasn’t into wearing a lot of eye makeup this month. Most of the time I wore a very natural, luminous makeup look in August. It was (and still is) way too hot to wear much more than that.
Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten Cheek Color in Tropic Hues
I bought this via Hautelook. I love that site! Most of the makeup I’ve purchased on that site has been 50% off. Laura Geller is a brand I found through Birchbox, and the brand has yet to disappointment me with a single product. This blush is a combo of berry, light pink, peach, and golden tones. You swirl your brush around and it creates a gorgeous shade!
Lancome Rouge in Love in 322 Corail in Love
You know I have a thing for coral, right? Let’s just say I don’t need to buy any coral lip products for a long while. This particular lipstick is long-wearing (at least 6 hours), non-drying, and pigmented. Win, win, win!
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal
I’ve had this large sample for a while and finally broke it out this month. This is a cream highlighter. You can apply it over your foundation or mix it with your foundation. Lately, I’ve been mixing it with my Cover Girl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation to create a luminous, long-wearing foundation look. It’s highlightery without being too highlightery, you know what I mean?
Boots Botanics Face Rosewater Toner
This is a moisturizing toner that I use in the evening sometimes in the place of my Pangea Organics one. It smells so lovely. If you don’t like the smell of roses, you won’t like this. But if you do like roses, jump on this! You can get it Target and it’s super affordable.
Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious in Blackest Black
This mascara came out a few months ago and I’m just now getting around to opening my tube. I tested this out during a very, very hot day during which I was: sitting in a hot skating rink for at least 2 hours, outside with the kids, sitting in direct sunlight for about an hour, and then later watching the kids run around in the sprinklers. It didn’t smudge one bit, and I don’t even have the water proof version. This definitely going to be a staple in my makeup drawers.
Origins Zero Oil Skin Purifying Toner
I purchased this toner a while ago from Birchbox and tossed it into my cosmetics bag when we went to the beach towards the beginning of the month. This has mint in it, so it feels and smells very refreshing on the face. It contains a small amount of alcohol in it, but it hasn’t tried out my skin at all. Overall, I love it!
Bareminerals Well Rested For Eyes
I think this was featured in a favorites post a couple months ago. Well, I’ve brought it back for another round! While I’m still using this to set my under eye concealer, I’ve also started using it to cover up blemishes. It doesn’t cling to dry patches when my spots are healing, it lasts all day, and it’s so quick to apply.
This is the brush I used with the Well Rested. I completely recommend this brush for everything from setting your under eye area, to covering blemishes, to everything else in between!
Physician’s Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls Blush in Natural Pearl
Another highlighting product! This is a highlighting blush that looks gorgeous in the summer time. It has some deep pink and light pink colors. Again, you just swirl around your brush to create a gorgeous color.
This is hands down my favorite LUSH Fresh Face Mask. It contains cocoa, sandalwood oil, and spearmint. This mask targets oily and acne prone skin. I love using this at the beginning of the week to give my skin a nice perk up.
LUSH Mask of Magnaminty Face and Back Mask
If the Cupcake mask is my favorite, then this one is my second favorite. I’m sensing a trend with the mint, are you? This is another great mask for problematic skin. The kaolin clay is deep cleansing for the skin. And the mint, again is refreshing. This can also be used as a cleanser, but I enjoy it has a clay mask.
Those are the makeup and skin care items I enjoyed this month! What have you been enjoying lately?
I’m linking up with Ashley.
