It’s that time … it’s time for my May favorites!
For skincare this month, I was keeping it simple. I tried a new toner that I love. Figures I find a new one as soon as I’ve updated my skincare routine. 🙂
I’m going to be completely honest. This was a Caroline Hirons-influenced purchased. I pretty much bought just because she said it was good. Per the usual, you know. This toner works to restore the natural pH to the skin (so says Sephora, heh). It also moisturizes. It’s for normal/dry skin, which I definitely don’t have. But, in the evening, I pack on the moisture so this has been really great at night.
Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
This is exactly what it says — intensive and exfoliating. Think just like the GlamGlow Tinglexfoliate, only with teeny tiny scrubbies in it that exfoliate your skin as you rinse it off your face. The first time I used this, I was sold. It makes your skin look glowy and brand new, and it only takes two minutes. It tingles quite a bit, too.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
This was sent to me by Aine in our USA/UK swap. I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time! It has such a nice texture. It’s very creamy and easy to blend on the skin. This is the lightest shade and although it’s a tad yellow, I love it. The finish is satiny and very natural looking.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
Behold, the most amazing concealer I’ve ever used! Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration but it is pretty amazing. This has been the best concealer for spots. It stays all day, it blends amazingly, and it’s super creamy yet it dries pretty well.
Sleek Face Contour Kit in Fair
Another blush fave that came from Aine! I’ve seen this online a lot and was so excited to try it. The bronzer, blush, and highlight are the perfect combination for me. The blush is apparently a dupe for Nars’s Orgasm (a blush I don’t have). I also have the E.L.F. dupe for the Nars blush, and I personally like the Sleek one better. The formula is smooth and easily to apply.
Top Shop Lipstick in Brighton Rock
This is a bright pink lipstick from Top Shop. Silly me forgot to take the cap off the lipstick while I was taking these pictures! This formula is so creamy. It kind of looks matte and satin at the same time … if that’s even possible. I have been very impressed with how long it lasts on my lips.
Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Pixi Pink
Hello, spring lips! If I’d had this when I did my spring lip product round up, it would’ve been featured in that post. This is so incredibly moisturizing and somehow still pigmented. It’s a gorgeous cool-toned pink that looks so fresh and perfect for spring.
Bourjois 24 Hour Cream to Powder Eyeshadow
I think this is Bourjois’s comparable product to Maybelline’s 24 Hour Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows. This gorgeous, neutral eyeshadow has been my go-to for the whole month. It’s gorgeous all over the lid and provides a bit of shimmer. The neutral color is perfect for every day!
Sleep Pout Polish in Pink Cadilac
This is yet another product from my USA/UK swap with Aine, and it’s also something I requested. This is a tinted lip conditioner. It gives my lips such a healthy look. It’s definitely glossy, but it’s not too glossy and it really feels like it hydrates your lips.
Top Shop Waterproof Liner in Ebony
This is a surprising favorite, because I don’t gravitate to black eyeliner very often. It just looks so harsh on me, that brown looks a bit better. But this liner is so creamy and soft, it’s very easy to blend with a pencil brush. Every day, I’ve worn this with the Bourjois cream to powder eyeshadow. Perfect for work!
Kiehl’s Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter
I bought this in early March when Angela and I were at a Belk fashion show. I noticed the Kiehl’s counter and wanted to take a whiff of this, since I’d heard it smells so good. Guys. This smells so good. It smells comforting and sweet. It also moisturizes my skin so well!
Top Shop Glow in Gleam
This has been quite Top Shop heavy, eh? After trying these products, I am braver about ordering makeup from their site. This is a cream highlighter that has a golden tone to it. A little goes a long way, as it’s shimmery. But it’s gorgeous! It looks great with a lot of different blushes, too.
And that’s it for my May favorites! I kept my skincare and makeup simple this month. I pretty much wore the same makeup for the entire month.
So, I had a bit of a problem when deciding what to give away from my favorites this month. Most of my favorites are items that I can’t get a hold of. This month’s giveaway is going to be a $20 ASOS e-gift card. Some of my makeup faves are available on that site. But, you can obviously use it for whatever you want! Please enter in the widget below.
